I am dedicating this next month
of Tea Party Tuesday to the
St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Recently, I was able to cross an item off my "bucket list".
For the past several years, I have been a
Partner in Hope at
St Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I will NEVER forget the day I made that commitment.
Shortly after I was diagnosed with my brain tumor, I was
watching TV and happened upon an infomercial for
St Jude's Hospital and cried my eyes out.
The next day I became a Partner in Hope.
Cancer is a devastating diagnosis for anyone, but
in my opinion, childhood cancer
is particularly catastrophic.
I felt this was one small way I could do something
that might help someone else dealing with this diagnosis.
Over the years I often dreamed of visiting
St Jude Children's Research Hospital but
resigned my heart that I would most likely
live my life admiring from afar.
Well, on November 9th, 2011 my dream came
true and I was able to get an amazing opportunity
to visit this hospital and get a unique behind the
scenes view of this remarkable care facility.

My life was forever inspired and changed.
I came home with a fire in my heart
to seek out an opportunity to do more.
I was able to see with my own eyes, the
remarkable, compassionate care that is given to
these deserving patients.
NO PATIENT IS TURNED AWAY
BASED ON THEIR ABILITY TO PAY.
I was enlightened to learn that out of their
1.7 million dollar a day operating costs - 70%
of the money comes from DONATIONS.
This year I am most grateful for my opportunity
to give back to an institution that has given so
much to so many over the years.

Thanks and Giving began as a holiday-focused
fundraising effort and has grown into an annual
tradition that families look forward to each year.
It is an unprecedented coming together of celebrities,
media, retail and corporate partners. During this unique
national campaign, everyone can help raise funds that
are vital to the research and treatment taking place at St. Jude.

give up HOPE. They are actively RESEARCHING
the most RARE and DIFFICULT cancers when
NO ONE else is because there is NO MONEY
in finding a CURE for RARE TUMORS.
Christmas time is truly a season of giving and
hope, St Jude gives me HOPE !

So Blessed we are to have you in our lives, Trisha! Thank you so much for your incredible passion and dedication to the St. Jude Children and their families. We all need an opportunity like this to sit back and reflect on how lucky we truly are and how awesome it would be to in just a small way help others. Life is to short to live with regret. I will always Thank God for people like you in my life, reminding me that we can make a difference. I LOVE YOU!

Just last week I was telling my husband that I thought St. Jude's was the most worthy charity that I knew of. The one true blessing in life is the ability to help others and I can think of no better way than this. THANK YOU SO MUCH for shining light on this!

first i posted this to my facebook pg.i don't have a blog.second in 2009 i was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis.an auto immune,brittle bone,form of arthritis.this is a desease without a cure and attacks your joints and bone.your bones fuse to form one as your body is turned to the letter c.this is is your body attacking itself and your tired all the time.people with AS live a life in pain and to ease this pain so it isn't as bad as it could be we take meds that cancer patients take.i no longer can walk without a cane.somedays if i want to go out i use a wheelchaire.since i learned of that i have this people tell me i am praying for a miricle for you.my responce is thank you but i think the children need it more.i wish i had extra money to give to the children.i would also love to help animals as well.my wish is someday to help both causes.i know i won't win win your giveaway but i wanted to share this with you.i shared your post because i want to spread the word.ironicaly i just watched last night the christmas movie about one family who dealt with st jude when their child was diagnosed with a rare tumer.the child died the same yr i was diagnosed.my heart reaches out to all those children and families.i am now 36 but feel 100.i have no children but i luckily have a great supportive husband of 19 yrs.some have lost there spouces because they can't handle this illness.to all who support this great cause lots of love and gentle hugs

You have always listened and followed that warm feeling in your heart and have so tenderly touched so many hearts. When one has a kind & caring heart it does come back to you in abundance. Your heart encompasses so much and spills over with such compassion and pure goodness for others. What a beautiful gift your father-in-law gave you in this visit to St. Jude's. I can only imagine how inspired and motivated you were by those you met at this wonderful, life-changing institution. Since the loss of our wee son (not thru illness), we are constant supporters of St. Jude's, Shriners Hospital & Children's Hospital.

I remember doing fund raisers as a child for St. Jude's and always feeling as though I had helped another child get the much needed medical care. Thank you for continuing to help this wonderful place.

We help with flipping rooms for ill children under the Make a Wish Foundation and it is such a heartbreak to see those children suffer, and at such a young age, at the end of the day when they like their rooms and we get to see a little sparkle in their eyes it is all that matters, just trying to make their life a bit more comfortable.

I too am a cancer survivor and a Partner in Hope for St Judes. I can't think of a better charity than this. Thank you so much for helping to get the word out. Have a very Merry Christmas to you and ur family.
In the land of St. Jude, I am known as Julia's mom. In 1987 my beautiful daughter was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and to use the words of Doctor Mac, "In all probability will not survive". St. Jude has an affiliate in Peoria, Illinois, where Julia underwent treatment. To this day, I will never forget the depth of brown in Docs eyes as he looked into mine with the words a mother never should hear. The tumor was in Julia's chest, shutting off her vital organs, and surgery was not an option due to the location and size. Dr. Mac called Memphis hospital for the protocol from his car, but when he arrived at the hospital, Julia was on a ventilator and in cardiac & pulmonary arrest. When I saw my baby lying there, blue, and someone had French-braided her long blonde hair, never did I know such could come from my being. There are no words to describe, and nothing but prayer to do. By the Grace of God, and only He, did our Julia came back to us. Doc started a chemotherapy drug to dissolve the tumor, which was not without risk. After three and a half years of intensive Chemotherapy, and seven more of monitoring; fast-forward to 2011 where Julia will be thirty-one next month. Trish, this will make you smile... Julia works for the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation in Chicago, IL. Doc is now retired, but on Julia's tenth year, and release from St. Jude, he told us she was the sickest child he ever had that survived. She was too sick to go to Memphis for her induction, however, she did go to Memphis with another St. Jude family. I know this is a long comment, but I wanted to share with you and your followers, of how St. Jude saved my little girls life. I looked at Doc and said, "What do I say to the man who saved my child's life?" I still do not have an answer to that question. I never dreamed we would find ourselves on St. Jude's doorstep, but we did. And they not only opened their doors, they opened their arms and brought us into the family. Hi, I just happened upon your post from last year. As you well know it's coming up on that time again. I must tell you how much we thank you for spreading the word to help our children. My son is a patient of St. Jude. He was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma 5.5 years ago. We spent 9 months of our lives there, and continue to go back yearly. We have always considered that time to be the best, and some of the worst times a family should endure. Thanks be to you, and all of the other wonderful people who continue to support them. The money that is sent to St. Jude is honestly spent on every patient...all 100%. The prayers of course are PRICELESS. Thank you for giving my son, and many others the opportunity to become adults. Without St. Jude and their dream, our dreams as parents would be shattered. God Bless
I have just came across your post from last year. As you know that time of year is fast approaching again. I would like to thank you for reaching out to so many to help our children. My Son is a patient of St. Jude. He was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma 6.5 years ago at the age of 5. We spent 9 months of our live there. We continue to go back once a year for check ups now. We have always considered our time there as the best, and part of the worst a family should ever have to endure. Thank God we were able to bring our son home, and that he is now happy & healthy. Sadly many parents don't get that chance. Thank you, and to all of the ones that you have reached for helping our son to be able to have all of his first's in his life. Finally, thanks to Danny Thomas the founder of St. Jude for having a dream. For without his dream, our dreams as parents would have been crushed. God Bless, and Happy upcoming Holidays.
